“Right from our very first meeting with John we felt confident we were in safe hands”
The owners of this property had four small, virtually unusable ground floor rooms. Our brief was to remove all the walls and knock through to create one beautiful open-plan space. Light, airy and full of possibilities, it needed to represent the best of modern living.

To match the external look of property with the inside, we incorporated a brick slip feature wall above the kitchen units. The whole kitchen and dining area was brought to life with Karndean herringbone flooring, black column-style radiators, and LED lighting. Outside was also key. The owner (a keen chef) wanted to transition between the house and the driveway, so we designed a herb garden with matching decking. And, as an added memento of the project, ‘2022’ was branded on the downpipe hopper.
We created two different floor levels inside, including a living room snug at the end of the property, the Stone team had to acro-prop the entire house with six giant RSJs, supported by the new extension wall. The kitchen island – the main feature of the project – came complete with multiple ovens, downdraft hob, instant boiling hot water tap and wine cooler.
