“This is the best bathroom I’ve ever seen”
Our brief was to renovate two bathrooms for this customer, to create tranquil spaces with a modern, 5-star feel. A specific request was the countryside view of Owler Tor summit needed to be preserved and visible from the shower. Walk in, no step or cubicle doors to impede the view was deemed the perfect way to start the day.
Cost: Approx. £10k en-suite / £4k cloakroom/WC
Timescale: 3 weeks
A design challenge that we overcame was that one of the en-suite bathrooms was we had to work within the constraints of the eaves of the roof. Using our master plumber, we managed to re-route all of the plumbing under the floor, so everything could sit flush. Two Saniflo toilets were removed and replaced with traditional units and gravity soil pipes.
The owner was very specific on how the 3D geometric wall tiles would be installed. (This is fine with us – we always aim to please!) Using LED lighting behind the bath to create a warm glow in the room, backlit mirrors, and features such as vivid turquoise tiles and a black porcelain sink, both bathrooms were created to contrast in style but answer the brief of being uber modern and sleek.
