Meet Harry
We are thrilled to highlight one of the newest addition to the Stone PM family – Harry, our talented apprentice in Carpentry and Joinery (Site Carpentry).
Joining our team earlier this year, Harry has been making waves both on our construction sites and at Sheffield College, where he is honing his skills and knowledge in the field.
We managed to have a chat with Harry last week and ask him a few questions about the course and his reasons for doing it..
Why did you choose an apprenticeship?
“I chose an apprenticeship as i thought it was the best way to gather the skills and knowledge that i need to excel and qualify in the field of work that I would like to pursue for my career”
Tell us about the role at Stone PM
“My role is a joinery apprentice and i am there to learn the skills of my trade and shadow the qualified joiners on site, to one day be able to complete tasks on my own and be a valid asset to the company.”
What is the best thing about your role?
“The best thing about my apprenticeship is that i get to learn different skills everyday and get to see projects develop from start to finish, whilst also earning a wage.”
Would you recommend apprenticeships and why?
“I would recommend an apprenticeship as you get to learn skills on the job in the environment that you are going to be working in in the future whilst also earning money throughout your journey. You also get a hands on experience making you learn faster and learn more.”
