Well done Mark

Last week Mark achieved a remarkable feat: conquering the renowned Three Peaks Challenge.

Comprising Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon, these three peaks are the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales, respectively. Mark, along with fellow adventurers, undertook the demanding challenge of scaling each of these peaks consecutively.

Mark embraced this challenge with a noble purpose: to raise funds for a charity called the Safe Space Movement mental health charity. Their mission is to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health issues and the act of seeking help, ensuring that everyone can access the necessary support at the right time. Their aim is to combat feelings of loneliness and isolation that affect those in need. The funds Mark raised will be directed towards covering the operational expenses and sustaining their crucial phone lines for the upcoming year.

The challenge was undeniably tough. Mark shared

” We did it as a team, we pushed, carried and lifted each other but we did it.”

The initial ascent of Ben Nevis proved to be particularly gruelling, with harsh weather conditions featuring strong winds and driving rain. Next, they conquered Scafell Pike, remarkably completing the climb in just 3 hours and 45 minutes – an incredible achievement made even more astounding by the fact that it was undertaken during the night-time. Finally, they climbed Snowdon, where the challenge reached its conclusion after an arduous 23 hours and 45 minutes.

Upon completing the challenge mark said

“What a tough challange but with incredible teamwork, support, love and laughter we came together and smashed it for Safe Space Movement!”

Well done Mark, at Stone we are all proud of what you achieved
